Tony Amendola has been appearing as Shylock in Shakespeare’s “Merchant of Venice,” at the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespeare Festival.  And, of course, you can catch him as Bra’tac, the 200 year old warrior, on STARGATE S-G1 re-runs.

Karen Black recently won the Best Actress award at The Female Eye Women’s International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada for her role in the indie film “Nothing Special” directed by Angela Garcia Combs.  The film also won Best Debut Feature.

Darren Bridgett continues to hit the boards at the Marin Theatre Company, most recently as Petruchio in “Taming of the Shrew.”

 

Joy Carlin continues to be the premiere theatre director in the Bay Area, most recently “The Norman Conquests” at the Shotgun Players in Berkeley.

 

Will Marchetti recently completed a screenplay of his stage play “Kinfolk,” now entitled WILD HOPE (co-written by Robert Zagone and Jim Vaccaro).  Will also plans to do a film production of his play, “Warriors,” a delightful comedy about senior citizens who are recovering alcoholics.

Rob Nilsson showed his film “Imbued,” starring Stacy Keach, at last year’s Mill Valley Film Festival.  The Nilsson Award, named after Rob, was recently presented to Danish Filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn in August at the VisionFest 2010 in Los Angeles
